riverboats music festival - on the road to zero waste
we’re rolling out reusable crockery across all of our food vendors in 2020!
In partnership with environmental group B-Alternative, all food purchased at Riverboats 2020 will be served on reusable plates and bowls with reusable cutlery, but we need your help!
Just three easy steps:
1. Purchase your zero-waste wristband for $3 from the festival box office, B-Alternative tent (opposite the food trucks) or from one of our Green Team volunteers
2. Order a meal from any of our food vendors and hand over your zero-waste wristband when you pay. Instead of disposable packaging, you will receive your meal on a quality, reusable plate or bowl, along with reusable cutlery - happy days!
3. When you’ve finished your meal, simply drop your plate and cutlery off at one of four bin stations dotted around the site. A bin fairy will be on hand to give you a new zero-waste wristband to use for your next meal
Don’t have a wristband? Our food vendors will simply add an extra dollar to the cost of your meal
To help make this a success we ask that you:
Drop any leftover food scraps in our bin hubs, where they will be taken away to be composted locally at BioMix
Leave your used crockery and cutlery at the bin hubs (bin fairies will be there to assist)
Drop your aluminium cans at either the bin hubs or can crush units dotted around the site
Please don’t drop your rubbish on the ground, drop it at one of our bin stations instead!
SINGLE-USE PLASTIC BOTTLES
#BYOBOTTLE
Riverboats no longer sells single-use plastic bottles from any of its bars or food outlets.
Help us by bringing a reusable bottle from home and refilling at one of several water refill stations dotted around the site. Reusable water bottles will also be available for sale from our bars and merchandise tent.
